It's the final countdown
and once more I'm being reminded why I've decided to chuck it in. It's Monday night and the mountain of (paid) work doesn't get any smaller, and I wish I was hanging out with friends instead... and the nagging little voice in the back of my head keeps telling me that I "have to" write a quiz. Chore. Defintely no fun. But the end is nigh and I'm looking forward to it.
So here's the plan for the last Quiky on Thursday 28 May, at least as far as I've got it.
It's the last Thursday of the month so Music Round is ...CHANGE OF PLANS ... (more or less) famous duets. Maybe with a twist or as Gone in 60 or... dunno.
Pictures - the usual, last "Logos 5in1", maybe a 4in1 genetic experiment, more macros, and BS to fill in the blanks.
Question Round 3 - "Famous Lasts...." - from last words to letzte Ruhestätte, last movie to ... James Last?!?!
Last... 2 question rounds - not the foggiest. Suggestions or requests welcome, by Wednesday afternoon if possible.

Challenging
"Björk loved soccer but prefers football now" want to defend tonight's title.
"The Vatis formerly known as The Muttis" are one Urkunde short of a full office wall of fame.
Feid Pinkies probably want to acquire the last bottle of vodka for the house warming party.
I want to finish the quiz season (?) on an all time high.
Tonight really was fun. The preparation tho was hard work (you didn't think that I could have answered more than 3 of the Patrick Swayze questions?!?!). And I'm looking forward to my well-deserved rest. 289 down, just one to go.
Quiky #290 is going to be one of the bestest ever even if I have to work all weekend minus the 3 hours on Sunday when I sit through 90+ minutes of **** and watch Newcastle going down. "Earning" two wicked sandwiches as consolation "prize"....
If you want to challenge the champions, or win some alcohol or nuts, or just have some fun before Pfingsten, book your table asap or ...

This report of my death
was an exaggeration... Said Mark Twain.
Could have been copied by Annett Wolf tho.. Not that I would have been as devastated as I'm going to be over Newcastle's relegation, but recent (viral) news about Patrick Swayze having shuffled off this mortal coil seem to be a bit premature. It wouldn't have surprised me had it been true but t isn't. Yet.
Nevertheless, as the Scouts (and Aston Villa) motto dictates, you should always be prepared. Hence the change in plans for the question rounds tomorrow. One of the 2 remaining questions rounds (one being anagrams) is going to be a "Patrick Swayze Round". The man, his life, his songs, his movies.. and everything related... Swot now or guess tomorrow.
Oh, and because I'v got new ones, and more than I could ever use, music round will be cover versions.

Plans for #289 are still somewhat sketchy. Here's what I have so far.
Anagram Round (maybe with a twist or a connect 9 crossover)
Music Round "Heavenly" - it's Himmelfahrt so all the titles include the word "heaven"
Picture Round - the ususal BS
Question rounds 1+2 are as wide open as Newcastle's defence. (which reminds me that we might do a "black & white" round.. just because I can't find enough relegation-related questions)
For those of you who feel like leaving suggestions here - remember, if you post them Thursday afternoon it'll probably be too late..

The bad (?)
Quiky #290 on 28 May is the last one for a while. Various events over the course of the last couple of weeks have strengthened my resolve to take a break from quizmizzing. That might look like doing a Keegan but I've been giving it more thought than some of the questions. I've always said it's a hobby and I'd be doing it as long as it's fun. Sadly it's becoming too much of a chore and I need some time-out to think a few things through. And to go to the cinema, organise my bookmarks, read some books, rediscover long-forgotten hobbies, look up long-lost friends, photoshop just for fun, finally go to Murray's, go to England, take up exercisi.. alright, that probably not. Anyroad, it's time for a few changes. Updates & potential plans will appear here if/when I have any.

is a Jamaican tangelo, a citrus fruit created by hybridizing a grapefruit (or pomelo according to some sources) and a tangerine.
