After a year of riddles and fun and more than the occasional amount of BS I wish you & your loved ones the best holidays you can get. Frohe Weihnachten, Happy Hanukkah, Joyeux Noël, Happy Christmas, and above all a VERY MERRY QUIZMAS.

May the new year bring us peace and joy, health and prosperity, and also the odd (correct) answer to the questions life throws at us.

The year 2016 is leaning sharply towards its end and we have 3 quizzes left. And they're all pretty much booked up. VERY few tables left (unless some people cancel) and groups bigger than 6 need not apply anymore.

Of course we will have predictions of the week or other games to pick up a few extra points. We will also have a 'secret Santa' round for Quizmas and other things I haven't though of. Yet.

Wilde Quiz Autumn & Winter Agenda

Since we keep getting booking requests for quizzes that aren't going to happen, here are the quiz dates for the remainder of 2016.

For at least the rest of 2016 we have to schedule our quizzes around the Europa League Thursdays. Therefore our regular quiz dates on the first and third Thursday of each month are somewhat subject to change.

The last 4 quiz dates for this ole year are as follows

• WQ#211 Thursday 27 October (due to last minute cancellations, now 3 spare tables - if you want in send mail to quiz_miz@hotmail.com .. by 6.15pm at the latest. or just turn up tonight)
• WQ#212 (Champions League S17 Finale), Thursday 17 November (4 tables left)
• WQ#213 Special Edition 70s+80s+90s (details here at a later date), Thursday 1 December (5 tables left)

October is upon us, and with it the annual Ossi-Runde (fear not, we're not doing a whole GDR quiz anymore ;). WQ#210 on Thursday 6 October is almost all booked up, at the moment we have 2 tables left. If you want one of them do send us a mail (do NOT phone Oscar Wilde for reservations)

If you want to start with up to 10!! points, we have a prediction of the week. You can either pick 5 of the 7 football games below and predict the score (1pt for correct result win/draw, 2pts for the correct score) OR you can predict the first 5 places in Sunday's Formula One Grand Prix. After the 3-week football break Ye Wilde Quiz returneth on Thursday 22 September with WQ#209. We start at 8pm (or thereabouts) and have loads of tricky and amusing new questions and picture puzzles. Topics will range from knights to Knappen, Irving to iWords, flags to food... and lots more.

Zombies, hamsters, history... Ye Wilde Quizze returneth

Another month, another quiz (actually, three in September).. We kick off the month with WQ#208 on Thursday 1 September at 8pm.
The holidays are over and we're slowly approaching autumn. Quiz attendance is going to pick up and if you want in on the fun you'd best reserve a table (by mail). At the moment we still have 5 tables, that'll change soon.
We're going to have a wild(e) mix of topics this week and maybe see a return of the raspberry vodka shots.

After a wee summer break (and on-fire BallZ' HasenQuiz hat-trick) we return to Ye Olde Wilde Quizze.

New beginnings - starting the third century of Wilde Quizzes

Forgive the tardiness, Queops, but with these month-long breaks between quizzes other things occupy the mind ;)

OF COURSE there will be a quiz on Thursday 12 May (not that I have even one single question ;) ... but dafür loads of kewl pics) and since the pickNmix system we used for #200 seemed to be popular among most teams, we shall keep it for now.

I do not know what the future brings (not even beyond the next 8 weeks) but we will start Champions League Season 17. The rest time will tell.

And since Vicky's Warriors and Quizzee Rascals won't return on Thursday, I have Yogi.

The new system (2x5Qs) allows for loads of topics so shout out your preferences (except boybands, Justin Bieber, quantum anything, Cartrashians...) It's easier to find 5 questions per topic, rather than 9. You can suggest cool combos if you like (e.g. small dogs+large bodies of water, 70s' fashion+Asian cuisine, video games+Victorian novels etc.)

We still have a few tables so if you want in for one of those rare fun nights, send me a mail ;)

Wilde Quiz wird 200 - the big jubilee party quiz party

QUEOPS!!!
The time has come to celebrate 200(+) nights of mysteries, music and mayhem.

YE WILDE QUIZ #200 kicks off on Thursday 21 April at 8pm. Or thereabouts. The reigning and almost all previous champions will be there, as well as some newbie teams who want to challenge the old boys and girls. We'll reminisce and riddle, play silly games (long time no pitcher round ;) and o/c we'll have the usual nuts and drinks. And songs. And ridiculous videos. Even more than ususal.

As of Sunday 17 April we still have 2 tables for anyone who wants in. Simply send a mail to quiz_miz@hotmail.com.. first come first served.

Those of you who have a table, please be there in time, due to the high number of newbies we might need a bit more time.

I look forward to seeing all the old faces (some of them will remember Wilde Quiz #001) and meeting new Freunde der fiesen Fragen :)

Beware, the ideas for March

Quick update regarding the March schedule. For people who don't read the small print on the right.

THERE IS NO QUIZ on 17 March. It's Paddy's Day and the only questions asked on that day will be "where the feck is my drink" and "why the fook are you wearing that silly green hat?"

The #GrandeFinale of Champions League Season 16 will take place on Monday 14th or Monday 21st March. Final date will be announced as soon as the facebook group has agreed on one. Caveat: groups of 8 and more players will be excluded from this one as recent history has shown an annoying lack of discipline in large groups. Champions League Final is all about quiz, No partying.

We shall have reason to party (and quiz) later in March. The BIG#200 is coming up and we're gonna celebrate that one with a quiz party like none before. Details here as soon as we have them. Date will most likely be the 31st March.

For the time being RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. The quizzes are almost always fully booked, walk-ins don't have a chance of getting a table. Most importantly - reservations can only be made by mail to quiz_miz@hotmail.com. If you phone Oscar Wilde to book a table I will not get the information till one hour before quiz starts and by that time it's too late.

Here we go again... QuizYear 2016 is GO!

Good morning fellow Queops, and the best wishes for a happy, healthy, peaceful, and quizzical new year. May it bring much fun, and many new friends, entertainment, excitement, new champions and old time-honoured traditions. And may it still leave a few questions unanswered so that we'll always have a reason to meet again.

That said - we start the quiz year with WQ#194 on Thursday, 7 January. 2016. As usual, this one is the big 2015 Review Quiz so do read up on stuff and people that happened and mattered last year.
