Holidays half-time heads-up

Still very much enjoying the tranquility of my northern Heimat but thinking of quiz questions already (was watching a quiz show on telly the other night, with a familiar face as the 'champion' (who might want to brush up on his culinary knowledge before the next Berlin/German/European/World Championships ;)) and was reminded that the next Wilde Quiz is only 1 week away.
Les Frenchies have sent me their 3 Yogi topics :)
Monday being Canada Day and Thursday Force of July, we are definitely going to have a mixed US/Canadian round. And music will come all the way back from the 80s. A promise I will gladly keep.

Back to barbecues, boats, bicycles and Bildende Kunst.. see you next week. We still have a few tables.

UPDATE: looking forward to welcoming new teams Struwwelpeter, semi-new team Les Frenchies and Oldies but Goldies DAQ*, Saving Graces*, Die 3 Fragezeichen***, LN et les Golfeurs, and maybe JM2D. Shout if I forgot you, it's been almost 2 weeks ;)
We do have enough tables so feel free to pop in unannounced, we'll find a little corner for you.

Texas Rules! almost...

No internet at the mo so short and sweet from the 'caf doon the road.
Points & pics of Thursday's Lone Star-studded mayhem, aka Wilde Quiz #94. Apart from the noise level (which needs to go down a notch in the next week(s), really, peops.. nowt wrong with joy and enthusiasm but 130 decibel is a tad too much) a lovely, almost f***-up free night (never mind old Michelangelo's murals).. and loads of fun. Apparently.
Winners DAQ have opened up a nice little gap but it's early doors and still 8 games to play in CL Season 8. Yogi for #95 has been (wisely) chosen by JM2D an we have 7 teams already so we are definitely going to have a quiz. Unless RealLife interferes and I have to cancel the lark.
Here's the gist of WQ#94... see you for #95 on Thursday, bright and early :D

What lies ahead

Since Lone Stars missed the opportunity to send me some of their wicked wishes for Question Round 3 all 3 rounds are mine (as are the other two :)).. we could see crime, stars, and something new... and maybe blue tunes.

If you have Champions League ambitions - reigning champions ??? *** won't be present - your chances of climbing up that table (Champions League table, that is - no weird  furniture adventures please) or taking the victory along with the bottle on Thursday are much improved. Just beat previous champions DAQ*, and/or previous champions Great CannonBallz* of Fire and/or previous champions Amazing Graces* ;)

So do tell your friends, bring your family, treat (or trick) the neighbours to a quiz and if you're on your own but don't want to miss out on the Thursday fun - Les Amazing Graces will surely be more then happy to adopt you :D

See (some) of you on Thursday, for the rest - have a lovely summer week :)

A Study in Pink

At long last - points. And - for a change - pics. Not of superior quality but they prove you were there. And a fun night it was, with new faces, and ideas, and a lot of hideous colour.
For the next 8 weeks we welcome Lone Stars, all the way from Teaxs, and also welcome to Elect, and hats off for playing with the handicap of previous refreshments ;)
And last but not least - thanks Kevin for spreading the word of Ye Wilde Quiz and sending such wonderful replacement.
And - before I post the pics (no pink, I promise) - Fragezeichen. Apologies. I did add the Prediction points for WQ#92 but my math was off by 1. ERGO - Fragezeichen are official winners of WQ#92 by 0.5 points. Sorry to all involved, not gonna happen again :D
And now the results of week 3 and a few pics.

See you (or at least you, and you, and you) on Thursday 13 June, the rest a week later. You never know, we might have new 'gate crashers'.. always exciting.
Lone Stars - you can send me your suggestions for the Yogi round by Monday 9pm, I won't have time to write anything before :D .. just mail your 3 or more favourite topics to this addy. Looking forward to your picks ;)

Prediction of the week WQ#93

Remember the deadline for this week's POTW:
Ballack & Friends vs World XI, tonight 8pm. That's your deadline to predict a) how many goals Ballack will score and b) how many minutes he will play (+/- 5min)
By mail, comment or fb message.
If you don't attend Wilde Quiz #93 you need not bother. If you don't want to start with 2 points (potentially).. dito.

15 minutes before KO and DAQ & Cannonballs have made their predictions. Eerily similar ones ;)
Come on  Bollocks!!! And Friends. Live on MDR & ESPN UK/IRE.

Sputznudeln, Spaß & Spannung

That was a lot of fun on Thusday.. and I have done some research regarding the rather intriguing team name 'Sputznudeln' .. when it's not a rhenish word for a Xanthippe it is a culinary specialty from Alsace/Lorraine. Some sort of potato dumpling. Given the fact that I remember some team members speaking French, I'd guess the dumpling is the origin of the team name. Corrigez-moi si je me trompe :D

Anyroad, apologies for tardiness, I know updates are late, and still incomplete, but real life (outside the Wilde Quizzes) is keeping me on my toes or at times even hanging by my fingernails. I promise I will put up the few pics of the last 3 weeks, and the points of WQ#90-92 soon. For now - the current Champions League table after 2 weeks. Slight lead for reigning Champions Die 3 ???*** but it's early doors. 10 weeks left for any team who fancy a good race ('fight' sounds so... violent :))

And - since we have a quiz on Thursday 6 June - get some extra points by predicting the following:

International 'friendly' Wednesday 5 June - Michael Ballack XI - World XI

  1. How many goals will Michael Ballack score? (+/- 0)
  2. How many minutes will he play? (+/- 5)

Send me your predictions by Wednesday 7pm CET. Mail or fb message or comment here.

See (some of) you Thursday 6 June, bright and early - WE START AT 8PM!!!
