What a night, what a finish! The trophy, and attached WQ CHAMPIONES title, have moved back from Fietscherings**** to former, and new, Qings DAQ*****. The fifth star, the Brazil of Ye Wilde Quiz (please do leave your 7-1 comments below ;) )
It was a fun night, with quite a few new knowledgeable and entertaining teams, not to mention very well behaved. Please DO come back :D

We look forward to Season 13 which starts on 6 November. DAQ***** season will be open again sooooooon. Good hunting! It might become a four or five horse race this time. Not only did CannonballZ* have a mighty finish, Quizzicals also threw their hat in the ring in season 12. Can they go the distance next season, and win their first star? We shall see....

As last week's WQ#158 proved, life (and Ye Wilde Quiz) is full of surprises... Quizzicals added to the growing tally of wins, and P&A's Pünktchen adopted some canny Barnsley lads and took second place.
The game, Mrs. Hudson, ist still very much on even though DAQ**** have a nice 14-point lead.
NOT impossible to catch but it'd take some brains.

The following week it's business as usual when we kick off season 13!!! of Ye Wilde Quiz Champions League. After that, it's almost time to get your Christmas shopping done :D

But first I look forward to WQ#159 and the CLS12 final. Since I haven't received anything from Poophole Loophole I'll pick all three rounds..

Note: we normally welcome gate crashers with open arms and shots. The Halloween Quiz however is reservation only as we have stuff to prepare that requires a head count.. Teams that are not in the book by Monday 27 November will have to sit the spooky one out. 

WQ#155 round up, WQ#156 heads up

Quick one, haven't had much time lately for updates no one reads.
WQ#155 was fun, lots of nice teams, both old and new, and early-ish finish despite the slightly chaotic start (gate crashers!!!)
With CannonballZ* winning, and Fietscherings**** registering a discard score, the Champions League season 12 arse end is shaping up nicely. Only 4 games left and only 4.5 points between 1st and 2nd. SUSPENSSSSSE!

Next up - the annual OssiOssiOssi quiz (7 October is on the horizon).. or at least a round and a few loose questions. NOTE: this is a regular CL quiz, and the usual rules apply. If you want to make sure you score high in the DDRemembranceRound, do bring an old Ossi (that's East German 'Ossi', not Australian 'Aussie' .. though you can bring them too :D).. if you don't have one of those at home, try and snatch one off the street :D

Book is relatively full (4 tables left last night) and since we want to start early (Friday is national holiday but some people still have to get up in the wee hours of Friday), last minute (or past minute) gate crashers will most likely be turned away. If you want to play, do phone Oscar's and make sure you have a table, or state your intention early enough.

Golden Spurtles, Tartans, Tetris & #PardewOut - WQ#154

WellWellWell, THAT was a mixed bag of nuts (some more than others)... fun & frustration.
The most improvisestest quiz in a looong time and yet we would have finished before 11pm hadn't it been for people who chose to talk instead of listening.. and then asking questions that had already been answered 5 times. NO MORE, I say, no more... time to tighten the reins...
That aside - DAQ**** got their second first in a row (and would have even without the bonus points they got for Verdienste um das Fortbestehen der Veranstaltungsreihe :) - thanks for heeding my (very last minute) call - Hendrik - you are my hero!!!! He should be yours too, because without his prompt and professional aid we would not have had any music.

Bele, Beetlejuice, Bergfest, Black & White Army - WQ#153

Last night marked half-time in CLS12, and at the sixth time of asking, DAQ**** finally beat the rest of the field to take home their first victory of the season. CONGRATS!! Still a few points to make up on Fietscherings**** but we have another 6 games to go. As usual, the backside of the season is more interesting. Top 3 teams now have the prerequisite 6 games and can start working on their Streichergebnisse .. Graces* need one more, BallZ* and LGQ two.

Yogi for next week is all Corner Boys', no idea what we're gonna get (last time they lost we did Martial Arts films ;), but as already announced, we will defo have a SCOTLAND round in WQ#154, for obvious reasons :)

Prediction of the Week for WQ#154 - no Toon for a change but SNOOKER. Shanghai Masters Final on Sunday.

Quick update, points & POTW before the weekend. It sure was fun last night, Fietscherings**** are openening a wee gap at the top and P+A(-A) not only came third but also moved up to third in the CL table. Despite (or because of?) that vodka bottle :D

It was nice to have the time for video clips and other distractions (and still finish in time-ish) and good to see the new teams enjoying themselves after the shortest warm-up period. 

Anyroad, miles to go... POTW for WQ#153:
