So... after a lovely quiz that came with a win and 80 points for Cannonballs (not to speak of a win and 3 points for Le Toon) and smashing weekend in Le Toon (with another win, 3 points and the goal of the month, not to speak of 2 hangovers and a cold) here - belatedly - last week's points, pics & stuff.

And last but not least - Kölscher Klüngel have sent a lovely Yogi topic, Bedebow & Graces start with 1 point after correctly predicting the Oscar winner and the book is almost full. If you can't make it please cancel early enough to give others a chance to take your table ;)

Looking forward to (a football-free) Wilde Quiz #80, with b'day Pinkies & Dr Brain and Feid Club and hopefully lots of fun... oh, and with songs that were played at Woodstock ;)

Prediction of the Week is back!!!

Teams who are in for WQ#80 and want to start with a point - check your crystal ball or take a Wilde guess as to which film will win the Oscar for BEST FILM on Sunday.

Post Oscars: Bedebow and Graces were right in their assumption that 'Argo' would win best film. Neat prediction skillz - both teams start Wilde Quiz #80 with 1 point :)

WQ#79 - Heads Up 2.0 .. bring towel

almost forgot.. I will be in late tomorrow.. well, actually, very early, to set up my stuff and all, and then I'm off to the Kilkenny to watch the first half of Newcastle beating Karkchhhrrr.... woteva. Right after the halftime whistle I will be sprinting down Oranienburger Straße (or catch a tram ;)) and hopefully be in Oscar's at 8pm.
I'll put all the reserved signs on the tables and get everything ready. Cliona opens the door when she has set up her stuff... please don't sneak in before ;)
PLEASE be as well behaved as always, be nice to Cliona (as always), wait patiently and above all DON'T PANIC!!! (bring your towels, just in case)..
Think about what joker round you want (Terry Pratchett, Multiple Choice, Oscars, or Songs with F.. or the usual PIKTSCHER ROUND)... and as soon as a black & white flash comes whizzing through the door.. give her a minute to catch her breath (in case of Newcastle being 2-0 down DO NOT MENTION IT) and form an orderly queue to register your team.
Then we should all have a smashing quiz night.

WQ#79 - Heads Up!

For those who - like the scouts - follow the motto BE PREPARED! .. this is (part of) what we'll do tomorrow night. (and we even have 1 spare table!!)
Because it's Oscars Night on Sunday we'll have an Oscars @ the Oscar's round.. Academy Awards past, present, and yet to come. Films, songs, actors, directors.... you name it, we ask it.
One (long over-due) round is dedicated to the genius that is Terry Pratchett. The man, the works (mainly Discworld), the films...
Round 1 will be Multiple Choice .. every & any genre.

Wir sind schon fast voll

As mentioned (several times) last Thursday night, the book for WQ#79 is almost full. 3/4 of Les Hurricanes had to cancel so table 33 is free for the time being. I don't know (if I know) the 2 new teams who have booked 2 and 3 tables respectively. They might not show up (as has happened before) or not in full strength so there is a SLIM chance that another table or two might be free on Thursday 21st February.
You can always try and find out by phoning Oscar Wilde during the week (good luck on Champions League nights after 8.45 pm :P) or just chance it and turn up on Thursday.
Likewise - if you have a table, and can't make it on Thursday - PLEASE phone Oscar's asap and cancel. There might be people waiting already.

Heads up! Music round will be songs that start with 'F', and since Buddybrand didn't send me their Yogi topics I pick all 3 rounds. Sunday is Oscars night so we might have an Oscars @ the Oscar's round... even though we only just had a Film Festival Round. The perks of being the mistress of this quiz ;) :P
If you have other suggestions - I listen to anything I hear till Tuesday night. Preferably mail or facebook comment...

Newcastle No-Show & Sweet Sissi

Bit late to the party again but I have lots of things (none of them quiz-related) going on in RL at the mo. Besides, fb is always easier to update and thus memmber of our little group ave had this information since Friday.
Anyroad, lovely night it was, even though I couldn't watch Le Toon. Fun Fact: surprisingly (?) Fragezeichen turned out to not only get almost full marks in the Yogi 'SissiKaiserinVonÖsterreich' round but alson knew what Justin Bieber's perfumes look like. Make of that what you will ;) .. in any case those bits of trivia brought them the second win in as many weeks and the lead in Champions League Season 7.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME MAILS (or facebook messages) TO BOOK YOUR TABLE. There are only 2 ways to do this:
1. tell me on Thursday night after the quiz and I put you in the book
2. Phone Oscar Wilde 2828166.

I have no idea what the reservations book looks like until I get to the pub on Thursday evening (or sometimes on Saturdays for the football but then I don't give one..) and if you tell ME I would have to phone Oscar's to reserve for YOU.... and srsly..?!?


You can give me a heads-up so that I know what/whom to be prepared for but that just counts as being nice and considerate (and might help you when I choose my topics/tunes)..

BTW - the same goes for cancellations.

Yogi No Go

Since Pigs in Space failed to send their 3 favouritestest topics for this week's Yogi Round the choice - like fog on the Tyne - is all mine. I will however consider any suggestions sent in by Tuesday 7pm. No guarantee though :)
As repeated ad nauseam, ANY team can make ANY suggestions for rounds they would like to see on the topic list. ANYtime. New ideas are always welcome, not just regarding topics but ANY change you would think benefits our little Thursday night exercise in ABS. Just don't start your mail/comment with "you have to..." or "you should..." :D
