Split Loyalties

First of all, you have to believe that I've given this quite some thought.... BUT
..after weeks of careful planning the first "open air" quiky, it looks increasingly as if the petty matter of European football (and - rather speculatively at the time of writing - Germany's part in it) might foil our plans and spoil the fun..

IF (and at this point it's more wishful thinking) Jogi's Jungs make an apfelstrudel out of Austria's amateurs (I KNOW.. we can still f*** it up in style :) AND Croatia (or their 2nd string) beat Poland or draw with them, Germany would come second in the group, thus having to face Portugal in the first semi final on Thursday.. MEANING that there wouldn't be any quiz, outside or inside, as I'd most certainly sit in the pub, face pain(t)ed and Bulmers & cigarettes at the ready... to cheer the lads in their last game of the EUROs...

IF HOWEVER (and this scenario is less likely than the one above) Germany go San Marino on Austria AND Poland manage to beat Croatia's 2nd string, we'd come top of the group, thus playing the 2nd quarter final on Friday.. against Turkey... IN WHICH CASE we could have an "open air quiky" on Thursday.. unless everyone wants to watch Portugal beat Croatia...

UPDATE
at the time of writing, Germany have managed to just squeeze through to the quarter finals... and looking back on tonight's performance (or lack thereof), I'd rather do a quiz for 5 people, outside, even in pouring rain, than sit through another 90 minutes of .... ...
However, being a football fan, and masochist, I'll be supporting what's left of former glory.. in the Kilkenny, after/with copious amounts of alcohol... meaning that there will be

NO QUIZ ON THURSDAY 19th

Next round totally depends on the results of the next few days.. updates here as soon as they come in... might be Thursday 26, outside.. or 3 July, inside... you'll know it as soon as I do...
