Grizabella, gambling & Great Ballz on fire - WQ#185

Greetings, Queops. We are living in exciting times..... and relaxing ones too. So much so that I forgot to put points & table up here (they have been in fb group though ;) before heading off into a loooong weekend.

WQ#185 was a great night 'en famille' - fun & discipline & early finish. AND the chance to try something new. I really enjoyed the 'gambling' round and we will be doing it again. Real soon  ;)

Maybe we can - slowly but surely - go back to the 'olden ways'... and if only for a while :)

Which brings us to the important part - CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.. the finishing stretch. Highly interesting results - good points for most, great points for some teams.

Great BallZ were on fire and won again, and because of their Streichergebnis 'tactics' they are now nipping at DAQ's heels... only 1.5 points between 1st and 2nd!!!!!! SUSPENSSSSSSSSSSSSE!!!!

(unfortunately, they can't make WQ#186 .. will DAQ seize the opportunity and gain some ground?)

We may have only 2 games left in Season 14, so do make sure your team is reperesented, if only by 'deputies' ...

The latest re. remainder of WQCLS14 and short-term plans. PLEASE DO READ CAREFULLY.

We're gonna have WQ#185 on Thursday 7 May. At the mo only CL teams are in the book (as far as I know), if you want to join them DO SEND ME A MAIL. If you phone there's no guarantee that I'll find your reservation.

WQ#186 depends entirely on the number of interested teams since Thursday 14 May is Himmelfahrt (Ascesion Thursday) and thus a holiday. I need your yay or nay by Sunday 10 May. By mail, or in the fb group, or tell me after WQ#185. If I don't get enough teams to warrant the work and hassle, we'll skip next week. In that case WQ#186 would be Thursday 21 May (the Thursday before Pfingsten).
At the moment I'm contemplating cutting the Champions League by a week or two and ending it on 28 May since I don't know yet what June brings. I have matters to take care of that demand my full attention, and preparing/running quizzes is a very time-consuming hobby at the moment.

Fun quiz WQ#184 was, nice new teams, lovely atmosphere and good scores all round... (and great craic after the whistle - that duck pen is still haunting my dreams ;) )

Due to the absence of 2 CL teams there were some shifts in the table. BallZ* moved up into second spot, will be interesting to see if they can defend it this Thursday :D )

Another fun (and full) night brought a slight shift in the table as CannonballZ* finished their sixth game and moved up to third. DAQ****** are back to their old Champions form and registered their third win in a row. Fietscherings**** would have won though, had it not been for 7th-player-points-deduction :(

And I'm not even gonna comment on ill-chosen joker rounds ;)
