Xmas Quiky - Update

Cracking the whip was not much use, them elves decided to take the weekend off to watch Newcastle get their first away win since Christmas was invented...
Back on track now, double-speed, here are the first parts of the plan for Thursday.
  • number of rounds will be 6 or 7 (3 question rounds, 1 music and 1 picture round, 1 or 2 games/creative/BS rounds)
  • number of questions per round will be 8 in order to squeeze in the "artistic" parts
  • music will be Christmassy but with different questions for each tune
  • number of ciggie breaks will depend on whether we can start on time or have to wait for the usual suspects
  • questions will be Christmas/winter-related or plain festive BS
We have managed to rearrange furniture and can squeeze in two more teams so there is still a chance of getting a table for an average-sized team (4-5)

see you Thursday...

Evil lurks

...just around the corner... I've accumulated enough spooky tunes, gruesome pictures and stomach-churning questions to last us until next year Halloween.
BUT
I haven't had the time yet to make 'em into something resembling a quiz.
I have, however, had the time to make a pretty poster :)

So this is the official invitation to this year's
Halloween Quiky.
Thursday 30 October. 8pm. Kilkenny.
Be on time, I have games planned and will therefore start earlier than usual.
Dare to be dreadful - if you turn up in style (and costume) you'll get bonus points... (and no, a BurgerKing paper hat does not count)

BTW - I'm obviously not telling you where I found the pictures and questions. If you're interested in the music tho - you'll find a link to a great blog with (not just) spooky tunes over on the dark side ... if you want some the easy way, bring a stick tomorrow...

Sometimes they come back....

After a week on home & foreign shores the MerryQuizmiz is back... rather well rested (but it's only Monday).
Thursday will see the return of badly researched questions, pretty photoshopped pictures and trying tunes...
And nuts.
And hopefully no muppets.

And since Le Brain is celebrating middle age and the advantages that come with it (i.e. wisdom ?!?) you might as well expect a few Frank-related questions...

We start at 8pm or 8.17 or at least we'll wait for Le Brain...

I'll be your substitute, whenever you want me...

As mentioned somewhere before, your faithful quizmiz is going to enjoy a week off. In the land of bad weather, worse food and catastrophic football. Still...

In her absence the Furchtbaren Vier (or was that the Furchtlosen Fünf?) have taken over the show and Quiky #256 on 18 September will be presented by Frankee & seine Pariser.

Judging by the first glimpses last night I can only say - f***, I wish I could cancel my holidays!!!
They will make up their own questions (and if they've learned anything in the last few months, their answers too), will bring their own pictures and maybe their own nuts. They will also deal with any possible visiting muppets. And hand out their own yellow and red cards :)

Same rules apply (i.e. 6 max per team, 1st & 2nd prize, number of rounds) BUT unlike the regular Thursday night mayhem, this show is rumoured to start on time (according to QM Frankee the kick-off time is 8.02pm)

So what are you waiting for? Book a table now or be as sorry as I am for missing the probably funniest of all quizzes.

Good luck lads & lasses, have fun and remember - I WANT VIDEO FOOTAGE!!!
