24 hours later and while the memories are still fresh (and the Hirn awake)..
Als Erstes nochmals allen Teams (auch die, die gestern 'unentschuldigt' gefehlt haben :P) vielen Dank für 16 schöne, laute, verrückte, feucht-fröhliche, und hoffentlich auch etwas lehrreiche Abende. Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht.
Besonderen Dank auch nochmals an JMT - daß ihr euch an meine Vorliebe für CactusFuck erinnert habt.. die Hälfte ist auch schon wech :) Den PartyPack werde ich allerdings aufheben - man weiß ja nie wann man mal einen ersten Preis braucht.

Last Quiky - last minute

Seriously, I had planned to put the rounds up here... but then work, weekend, and werybadfootball got in the way.. and now 'm left with 23 hours and still 3 rounds to find/write. (I do have pictures, and we do a 'famous lasts' round.. last songs, words, orders.. definitely NO LAST CHRISTMAS :)
Music - no idea... 
First though I have to check and correct some more homework (Arbeit geht vor) and then I'll spend the rest of the night with puzzles.
We might do a mixed and/or bullshit round.. or somet.

I have received word from the Kilkenny management that Monday 2 May is definitely the last Quiky. After that we're no longer wanted. No reasons given really but if I try and read between the lines we're deemed unprofitable. Not worth keeping it up in the summer months.
Where/when/how BrainsinBerlin quiz night returns is yet to be seen, I'll be trying to find a new location asap. Updates here or by mail to those whose addresses I have.
For now let's concentrate on the very last edition. Quiky#16 on Monday 2 May. 8pm (this time we have to start on time, lots to cram into the last 3 and a half hours.

Ich habe heute die offizielle Nachricht bekommen daß am 2. Mai definitiv das letzte Quiky stattfindet, danach sind wir nicht mehr erwünscht. Ohne ausdrückliche Angabe von Gründen aber zwischen den Zeilen gelesen werden wir wohl als untrentabel angesehen. Whatever.
Momentan steht noch in den Sternen wie/wann/wo es weitergeht, ich arbeite daran eine neue Location zu finden die uns alle aufnimmt. Updates dazu hier bzw. per mail an diejenigen von denen ich Adressen habe.
Somit gibt's am Montag den 2. Mai die finale Quiky-Nacht und wer nochmal dabei sein will sollte schnellstmöglich reservieren. Die oben genannten Teams haben ihre Tische sicher. Frei sind noch Tisch 36, 37, 40 und 42.
Wir versuchen müssen so viel fun und fiese Fragen wie möglich in 3 1/2 Stunden zu stopfen, kommt also rechtzeitig damit wir wenigstens einmal um 8 anfangen können ;). Wer noch Adressen/fon-nummern austausuchen oder sich von seinen Stammnachbarn verabschieden oder Ideen für zukünftige Quiz-Abende diskutieren will möge sogar noch früher erscheinen (oder länger bleiben)..
Themen für die letzte Veranstaltung muß ich nochmal überdenken, vielleicht machen wir mehr und dafür kürzere Runden... spätestens Samstag hier zu lesen.
Mütze - da die Zeit jetzt knapp wird brauch ich euer Yogi-Thema leider schon bis Freitag nacht...

So - für Ostermontag war das doch 'ne sehr gepflegte und lustig Runde. Und die Punkte lagen auch viel dichter zusammen als sonst... was vielleicht damit zu tun hatte daß viele Teams sich mit TheBigBangTheory besser auskannten als ich dachte :D
Punkte hier morgen, erste Bilder eventuell auch. Und vielleicht zum Spaß/Üben James-Bond-Fragen die leider nicht dran kommen konnten :P

NOW - Quiky - die Zukunft. Nach bisher unbestätigten Gerüchten könnte Montag der 2. Mai das letzte sein. Ich warte noch auf konkrete An-/Aussagen des Managements aber the writing on the wall läßt mich vermuten daß der Sommer naht und wir uns ein neues Quiz-Quartier suchen müssen. Früher als erwartet. Wer Vorschläge hat der möge diese bitte per mail/tweet/comment/facebookgroupmessage kund tun. Ich mach mich auch schon mal schlau.

Balls, Bond & Big Bang

Reet - quick break from Easter weekend to let you know the rounds for the (Easter) Monday Quiky #15.

Round 1: Bond, Shames Bond. The films only, but not just the Connery ones ;) including the toys, cars, girls, villains...and music.
Round 2: Ball sports.. everything that is played with a more or less spherical object (that includes egg-chasing games such as rugby and American football..)
Yogi Round: The Big Bang Theory. Don't ask.... the Sitcom, not the origin of the universe :) .. 9 questions on a show I gave up on after 12 minutes.
Music Round: geography. songs with cities, countries, rivers, mountains.. in the title.

Back to Easter then, chocolate, too much food, and just about enough sun. Have a good one, see you Monday.

Seriously, if the Quiky had a future I would definitely consider changing the Yogi rules... new location though could mean new format and new rules... excluding von vorn herein certain topics :P :P

Nein, wir reden nicht vom Urknall (nicht daß ich darüber mehr wüßte) sonder über die gleichnamige US-Fernsehserie (auf Pro7 zu sehen.. gewesen)).
Zumindest ich muß nun einen Teil meiner Ostertage damit verbringen, mir amerikanische Geekomödien-Folgen anzusehen. Physik und Ami sitcoms.

After tonight's chocolate & gummi bear round - look what Ferrero-related news I found when checking my yahoo account. (I actually just clicked on it because I misread the headline as 'Chocolate Tycoon Dies In Bikini Accident'... that's what happens when you don't drink alcohol...

Oh, and so much for Ferrero & 'Kinder':

only 3 days before this year's Easter Quiky kicks off. And as of now we are BOOKED OUT.

There might be one or two spare seats for single players or really small duos :) and table 40 would accomodate  3.5 people. And if you want to chance it, hoping that some teams might cancel before Monday or be a player or two short.. try your luck. All others will have to wait for the following week(s). Next chance: Quiky #15 on Monday 25 April. The usual rules apply.
BTW - if you have reserved a table and cannot make it for whatever reason - please phone the Kilkenny and cancel as soon as you know.. wer reserviert hat und aus welchem Grund auch immer nicht kommen kann - bitte ruft im Kilkenny an und sagt ab. Dann haben andere vielleicht noch eine Chance.


Now - topics, as mentioned, are Easterly. One bunny round, one round on sweets (chocolate, lollipops, toffees and other fantastic food bad for teeth and figure). The third round will be eggs, Easter in general and assorted BS (bunnyshit :P)

Points for last night’s Fiese-Frage-Festspiele as follows. Once again, massive congrats and hats off  ‘n all to Jenni & the Belles who won by a staggering TWENTYEIGHTANDAHALF points!!! Basically on the finishing line, with full marks in the music round, times two.

Other high (or low?) lights – Peaches won their first nuts ever. I think. Wow.

And nochmal zur Erinnerung an die Klugscheißer und Zwischenrufer die mich dazu zwingen laut zu werden – beim nächsten Mal (speziell bei Leuten die absichtlich stören um den grünen Hut zu kriegen..) gibt’s gnadenlos Punktabzug… Ihr wißt wer sich angesprochen fühlen sollte.

As for the short-term future of the Monday Madness – I don’t know yet if/when we’ll continue in May.. I’m already spending way too much of my time and money on it and have to find out if it’s worth it… we shall see. Moan over for now…

Großes buntes Osterquiz am Montag den 18. April.

Genaue Themen stehen noch nicht so ganz fest aber auf jeden Fall wird eine Bunny-Runde dabei sein. Incl. Häschen & Hasen, Kaninchen, und andere langohrige Kreaturen. Der Rest – Überraschung.

Und wir werden mit Sicherheit eine ‘Spiele’runde einlegen, ähnlich wie beim St. Patrick’s Day Quiz. Oster-Staffel-Spaß.. mit Eierlaufen und anderen interessanten Aufgaben.

Was uns zu Reservierungen bringt. Die oben aufgeführten Teams stehen im Buch. Es sind noch ca. 4 Tische zu haben. Wer also dabei sein will – bitte direkt im Kilkenny anrufen. NICHT PER EMAIL AN MICH, besonders nicht am Montag nachmittag (obwohl dann wohl alle Tische weg sein dürften).

Und last but not least – Ostermontag. Es kam schon des öfteren die Frage auf, ob es denn am 25. April ein Quiz gäbe (Simpsons haben sogar schon reserviert)… Wenn ich noch mindestens 4 andere Teams finde, läßt sich der Aufwand vor der Chefetage sicherlich rechtfertigen.. reserviert also oder sagt mir wenigstens Bescheid ob/falls Interesse besteht. Meldungen bis spätestens Donnerstag 21. April (mündlich am Montag, oder per mail oder Kommentar hier). Karfreitag steht dann im Blog ob und wie usw.

Und ob und wann und es so weiter geht entscheidet sich auch demnächst. Derzeit steckt mehr von meiner Zeit und meinem Geld in der Vorbereitung als noch vertretbar ist…

Apologies for not having posted pictures of the last few weeks yet. As mentioned, I'm stuck with dodgy internet cafes for the time being and barely have the time for 'proper' work and quiz stuff..let alone sift and photoshop photographs..and post them.

NewQuiky's Eleven

Right - initial plans for NewQuiky #11 on Monday 28 March.

• Round 1 - By the Numbers. All answers are or contain numbers (Mix of sports, film, music & other topics). Additional points for the correct math at the bottom.
• Round 2 - Either a Liz Taylor round or a round on divas (bit o' glamour for a change)
• Yogi Round - to be chosen by - in that order - Quiz Eubank, Wir Sind Geil, +4, or Less is More. You can send me your topic of choice by Saturday 26 March, 9pm. I'll pick the 9 questions. As specific or wide a field as you like.
• Music Round - might be intros or cover versions, might be something completely different. We'll see.
• Picture Round - the usual, just all new :)

And since last Monday showed that word about NewQuiky is rapidly spreading and seats are numbered (as are tables :) - do reserve a table if you want to be in for sure. NewQuiky #10 - points & pictures

As ususal, a bit late-ish but here are the points, and some first pictures of Monday's night of madness.

Apologies for not having the photos up yet, or tomorrow's topics .. spot of computer trouble and the urge to enjoy the sunshine instead of being stuck indoors.
Still - plans for NewQuiky #10 on Monday 21 March are forming (or being formed for me) as I type..

Round 1 will be - aus gegebenem traurigen Anlass: Bears. Not just polar ones, but of course including some Knut questions.
Round 2 - still struggling with that one.. will most likely be a surprise. Famous trios maybe? Or Literature (hatten wir lange nicht)?
And since I didn't get any Yogi suggestions - Round 3 is All or almost Nothing. Some of you might remember.. Zocker-Runde (aka The Big Gamble). You'll get questions with 2-4 answers and you have to have ALL correct for 2-4 points. If you attempt to get full marks be warned - one wrong and you get sweet FA. If you fold and don't even try - you can claim 0.5 points per question. Guaranteed.
Example.
Name the 3 original Stooges. First names suffice.

Correct answer for 3 points: Larry, Moe & Shemp. If you were not too sure, you could have accepted defeat.. and 0,5 points. If you did try, and wrote Larry, Moe & Curly - sorry. Nada. Zilch. Rien. Nix.
For those who dare (or know) - there are MASSIVE points in that round. (or 4.5 guaranteed)
