Wilde Quiz (that's what WQ stands for, OBVIOUSLY) was another fun affair with some very smart new teams... who knows, it might not be the runaway victory for Fietscherings after all? Then again, 3 wins out of 4... (but some really massive Streichergebnisse already...)

Wilde Quiz wird 200 - the big jubilee party quiz party

QUEOPS!!!
The time has come to celebrate 200(+) nights of mysteries, music and mayhem.

YE WILDE QUIZ #200 kicks off on Thursday 21 April at 8pm. Or thereabouts. The reigning and almost all previous champions will be there, as well as some newbie teams who want to challenge the old boys and girls. We'll reminisce and riddle, play silly games (long time no pitcher round ;) and o/c we'll have the usual nuts and drinks. And songs. And ridiculous videos. Even more than ususal.

As of Sunday 17 April we still have 2 tables for anyone who wants in. Simply send a mail to quiz_miz@hotmail.com.. first come first served.

Those of you who have a table, please be there in time, due to the high number of newbies we might need a bit more time.

I look forward to seeing all the old faces (some of them will remember Wilde Quiz #001) and meeting new Freunde der fiesen Fragen :)

Beware, the ideas for March

Quick update regarding the March schedule. For people who don't read the small print on the right.

THERE IS NO QUIZ on 17 March. It's Paddy's Day and the only questions asked on that day will be "where the feck is my drink" and "why the fook are you wearing that silly green hat?"

The #GrandeFinale of Champions League Season 16 will take place on Monday 14th or Monday 21st March. Final date will be announced as soon as the facebook group has agreed on one. Caveat: groups of 8 and more players will be excluded from this one as recent history has shown an annoying lack of discipline in large groups. Champions League Final is all about quiz, No partying.

We shall have reason to party (and quiz) later in March. The BIG#200 is coming up and we're gonna celebrate that one with a quiz party like none before. Details here as soon as we have them. Date will most likely be the 31st March.

For the time being RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. The quizzes are almost always fully booked, walk-ins don't have a chance of getting a table. Most importantly - reservations can only be made by mail to quiz_miz@hotmail.com. If you phone Oscar Wilde to book a table I will not get the information till one hour before quiz starts and by that time it's too late.

On the eve of WQ#192 we have 3 tables left. If you want one of them, SEND A MAIL. The QuizMiz' secretary is in the office till 4pm. Requests sent after that time will be not be read/processed and you'd have to come down to Oscar's in person and try your luck. If WQ#191 is anything to go by, we'll be full up by the time you get there.

Also - reservations for MerryQuizmas need to be made by Monday 14 December at the very latest.

Halloween - Hallo, Quiz!!!

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose... No matter what, time-honoured traditions should be upheld. And thus we shall meet for the annual Wilde Halloween Quiztravaganza.
Dress up (there will be points & other rewards for best costume), grab your garlic, search fur (sic) some fierce-looking fangs, dust off your broom, brush up on all things dead and undead and come down to Oscar Wilde Irish Pub (Friedrichstraße 112A) on Thursday 29 October. The traditional 8pm (or thereabouts)...
We're gonna have all sorts of gruesome and garish, as well as games, and guaranteed loads of fun. Nuts and drinks go without saying...

UPDATE: THE BOOK IS CLOSED. NO MORE TABLES FOR THE CREEPFEST.

And who knows, if it works out okay, we might have the odd (ir)regular quiz later this year...

From up north, greetings and last night's points & table. It was a massively fun night, and good points throughout.. Nice to see Hurricanes again, and to play/sing Bohemian Rhapsody - missed that spiel :)Bestest team name - The Kants grin emoticon grin emoticon grin emoticon
BallZ* made up some ground by bagging their second win in 3 games, and DAQ****** are still chasing their first first this season. Not all that much change in the CL table yet but certainly some interesting shifts.. Can't wait for WQ#181 in 2 weeks.
Twin Tub decided on the spot to return for WQ#181, with a vengeance, and a VERY interesting Yogi topic :D
But before we return to CL games - the annual Wilde Easter Eggstravaganza with choccie & games & lots of fun. Or so I hope.

Quick one before the weekend, and before I have to change rules, and write apologies for things that are way beyond my control, and comprehension.

Last night was mondo fun, despite the big crowd, and noise level, and the initial chaos. I very much enjoyed the Chuck Norris round, there will be another one :)

Hats off to newbies Tom&Jerry who got full marks in the Terry Pratchett Round (basically, 1!! of their team members did :D) and Glückwunsch to dogless Graces* who took their first victory this season. BallZ* forfeited this game and dropped one place in the table. But it is still early doors and loads of things can happen.

Before we kick off Season 13, we take a wee seasonal break from 'serious' quizzing.

Next up - Wilde & Weird. Wor much-anticipated (by some) annual Halloween QuizParty on 30 October. KO is 8pm, or thereabouts.

We will have the customary decoration, bloody (good) drinks, games & other surprises, along with the usual queer questions, peculiar pictures & terrifying tunes.

Costumes are not mandatory, but creative and creepy attempts to visually enhance the eerie event will be rewarded. One way or the other. So - get your gruesome garments out, don your witches' hats, insert your fangs and claws and creepily coloured contacts (nah, don't - they freak me out ;) ) and - most importantly - BOOK YOUR TABLE. Deadline is Monday night, this one is reservation only (we have to prepare stuff, and thus need a head count). If your name appears in the book below and you'd rather sit the Halloween special out - DO Let me know IN TIME. I for one am totally looking forward to the horror show...

After that one 'normal' quiz service is resumed, with season 13 starting on 6 November.

What a night, what a finish! The trophy, and attached WQ CHAMPIONES title, have moved back from Fietscherings**** to former, and new, Qings DAQ*****. The fifth star, the Brazil of Ye Wilde Quiz (please do leave your 7-1 comments below ;) )

The second Wilde Eighties Quiz was a massive night, lots of fun (and alcohol ;)) and the first 100+ score in a long time. Congrats Fietscherings, ihr seht gar nicht so alt aus ;)

It was incredibly tight (only 3 points, which Fietscherings*** would have got, had they not missed one quiz...) till the very end but DAQ**** DID IT.

Thanks peopsInnen, that was - for a change - a really lovely quiz night. So much fun, and yet so well behaved :D
Nice mix of faithful old and charming new teams (looking forward to seeing some of you again next week ;)) and even the shouts from the peanut gallery (or should I say Brötchenbäckerei) were mostly hilarious :D
