The third attempt at solving the picture round problem has ended in mission accomplished.
We can now throw pictures on the screen so bright you'll have to bring your shades. And we can move them, and zoom in and out, and play with colours.. and do lots of other things I haven't figured out yet.
Which means that we will definitely have 2 picture rounds on Monday, or slide show, or video round... The "normal" picture round will be the usual mix of BS, genetic experiments, macros, bla bla bla... The other round will only be revealed on Monday (mainly because I haven't got a clue yet :)
Since I haven't heard from last week's Yogi winners I'm assuming that they won't be coming and I therefore throw the round open. First team to send me a suggestion for a specialist theme might have a slight advantage.
The regular question round could be General Knowledge which leaves the field wide open.
I'm all excited about the working beamer and head off into the well-deserved and much-needed weekend. See yis on Monday, bright as the new pictures, and early as the birds.

Inquizition #4 - points & pics
For some unfathomable reason I've lately felt compelled to blog when I'm dru... not quite sober. And while I might write down the things that are in my head at the time, I often forget what I had actually planned on posting.
Like, last night's points. Which looked like this.

The other things being the pictures we couldn't use last night. Like the Panda one. Maybe it would have helped some of yis finding an answer closer to the truth :)

or this might have been a clue as to who directed the movie "Jabberwocky"...

this would have been 3 points if you could have named the 3 bands that had albums titled "Through the Looking Glass"

The question to this would have been "Which cult TV show had an episode titled "Shore Leave" in which strange creatures such the White Rabbit out of Alice's Wonderland appear?"

and which fashion designer created this little black and white fellow (in his likeness :)?

Now that you can google it it's rather simple but it would have spiced up last night's show a bit ... BUT as promised we will have 2 picture rounds next week :)
I'll try and put the other questions (and answers) up here later this week, and - as soon as I have it - the topic for the Yogi round.. AND a German translation :)
Till then - have a good one.
BTW - no one got the full-time result right either.. then again, I wouldn't have predicted a 1-0...YAY!!! (sometimes some things in black & white make sense or at least make you feel all warm and fuzzzzzy inside :)

Say it loudly and proudly...
Fucking Inquizition #4 - fucking fun!!!
Helped big time by Newcastle winning (even tho I couldn't watch much and barely got the goal) but VERY nice turnout in both quality and quantity (and I finally got to meet Anton The Wonder Dog).
For now, in my advanced state of refreshment, I can only say thank you again and promise that detailed points, questions, answers, translations and all the other stuff will be up here ...soon(ish)
Right to pick the Yogi topic goes to 3 Freunde (early rumours have it that it might be Star Trek :)
For those of you who enjoyed the Monty Python part, especially the edumacational one about etymology of the word FUCK, if you want/need to listen to it again, here is where you find it.. Lyrics here.
Next week's music round is cover versions, ve vill hev a vorking beamer/big screen and thus 2!!! picture rounds, and as for the other two questions rounds - your guess is as good as mine :)
Till then - have a good week, see yis soon. Keep practising and watch this space.

It's final...
well, finalizing...
Here are the latest (and last) details on tomorrow's Inquizition rounds.
Here are the latest (and last) details on tomorrow's Inquizition rounds.
- Who the frak is Alice? Lewis Carroll's Alice o/c, in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass, the author, the story, the characters...in literature, music & film... waaaayyy too many questions already. That one's defo gonna be fun.
- Some things in Black & White make sense.. from zebras to zebra crossings, to barcodes and black & white movies, beer, msuic.. all shapes & sizes... and since the mighty black & white Magpies are playing on the night - extra points and/or spot prizes for correctly predicted goals against Leicester .. let's hope there are some :)
- Picture round - the usual mix of BS, genetix, macros & maybe Spot The Ball...
- Alcoholic anagrams... drunken mix of letters that have to be rearranged to identify bevvies
- Music round - cunningly blended mix of TV and movie themes (or snippets thereof)... because we can :P

Get back, get back, get back to where you once...
Just because I keep getting asked.
A return to the Kilkenny is currently not in the cards, yellow, red, or otherwise. If and when the Quiky continues you will be the first ones to know provided that you watch this space.
In the meantime there's the Irish Harp Inquizition and - because I keep getting told - if you don't like it make other plans for Monday night. No one is forced to attend and I'm seriously getting bored by repeated whingeing. You know who you are.
The choice is simple - take it or leave it. There's always the Celtic Cottage.
As for the Inquizition - I'm working on changing it to another day but it's easier to train a monkey.
I am looking forward to no. 4 when we answer the question "WTF is Alice?!". And Stew's rendition of "The Carpenter and the Walrus"..

Beware the Jabberwock
Apologies Inquizition fans for the tardiness. It's the end of the month, and private and work matters are demanding more of my time and energy than usual.
Here are this week's points:
Cannonballs 55
Canucks 46+
Super Nova 46
1/4 Leninskij 34,5
That out of the way, I'd like to thank all teams for a fun night, it's getting better by the week. An extra massive thank you and round of applause once more goes to Stewart, for his wonderful rendition of Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky". That was totally cool and I'm already looking forward to next Monday, and maybe the recitation of "The Walrus and the Carpenter". And for those of you who turned up late on Monday and missed it (or just want to listen to it again) - here's the file kindly sponsored by the artist :)

And that brings us to the rounds for Inquizition #4.
The Yogi round is - surprise, surprise - Alice. And before you ask "WTF is Alice?!" - we're talking Lewis Carroll's Alice. In Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass. In books, films, music...
The second question round is going to be Black & White (for obvious reasons). The UNBEATEN YET this season Newcastle United are playing on the night and I might hand out extra points for those of you who correctly predict half-time and full-time results...
The music round is TV or movie themes, not sure yet. Check back here before Monday.
Picture round might be themed this time, not sure yet. However, handouts are not necessary - a new beamer has already been installed!!!! We should be getting bright pictures that stay up on the screen for as long as we need them.
The last question round - no idea yet. Maybe we'll do anagrams (I could hand you a sheet and go and watch football:)
And last but not least - I might have said it's not necessary to reserve tables (yet) but that was just in general. If you're after a specific table you'd better let me know or turn up real early.
SuperNova - "euer" Tisch ist für den 7. September reserviert :)
So - that's that for now, see you Monday for fun, football & fiese Fragen. Till then, have a good one.

Three is a magic number
..and Inquizition #3 might mot be magic but it should defo be a good laugh. The Music round is gonna be intros, maybe spliced together with added pics but no promise here.
Themed round (Yogi) is gonna by Monty Python. Anything from the Flying Circus (Spanish Inquisition anyone?) to the films and solo projects of the members. YAY!!! I'm already pretty excited about that one.
Picture round - because Missing Tim & Struppi begged so nicely - is gonna be lots of BS, genetix and new logo challenges.
That leaves us with 2 question rounds yet to pick and I'll give it some thought as soon as the Magpies have beaten Wednesday on Wednesday.
