Hägar, Helga, Honi & Hamlet, Hurricanes & Hand of God (& cunning Kants) - WQ#179

From up north, greetings and last night's points & table. It was a massively fun night, and good points throughout.. Nice to see Hurricanes again, and to play/sing Bohemian Rhapsody - missed that spiel :)Bestest team name - The Kants grin emoticon grin emoticon grin emoticon
BallZ* made up some ground by bagging their second win in 3 games, and DAQ****** are still chasing their first first this season. Not all that much change in the CL table yet but certainly some interesting shifts.. Can't wait for WQ#181 in 2 weeks.
Twin Tub decided on the spot to return for WQ#181, with a vengeance, and a VERY interesting Yogi topic :D
But before we return to CL games - the annual Wilde Easter Eggstravaganza with choccie & games & lots of fun. Or so I hope.
Check separate post re. reservations/book

Till the next time then - have a lovely pre-Easter weekend :)

1. Cannonballs* 92,5
2. DAQ****** 86
3. Let's Get Quizzical 80,5
4. Please Let My Mum Win (aka Quizlamic State) 73,5
5. Amazing Graces* 72,5
6. Pünktchen & Arno's Erzfeind 72
7. Fantastic IV (aka Grüne Gnome) 71
8. Hurricanes 70
9. Fietscherings**** 70
10. The Kants 61,5
11. 4-2-Won 58,5
12. Twin Tub 37,5

And YES - I do realize that my 4a.m. math has its flaws. While Graces did well, they did not do well enough to topple DAQ. It should read 337,5 points - that's third behind DAQ & Fietschs.

Prediction of the Week WQ#179

If you have a table for WQ#179, and want to start the quiz with 3 points, do predict the winners of the three Rugby 6 Nations games

  • Italy - Wales
  • Scotland - Ireland
  • England - France
This time your DEADLINE is Saturday 1.30pm - FOR ALL 3 GAMES... send your predictions by mail/pm/txt/comment in fb group or here.

Texas Rangers, Turtles, Terry, Action Jeans, Tom&Jerry. OR: Chuck Norris gives life lemons - WQ#178

Quick one before the weekend, and before I have to change rules, and write apologies for things that are way beyond my control, and comprehension.
Last night was mondo fun, despite the big crowd, and noise level, and the initial chaos. I very much enjoyed the Chuck Norris round, there will be another one :)
Hats off to newbies Tom&Jerry who got full marks in the Terry Pratchett Round (basically, 1!! of their team members did :D) and Glückwunsch to dogless Graces* who took their first victory this season. BallZ* forfeited this game and dropped one place in the table. But it is still early doors and loads of things can happen.
In any possible way.

1. Amazing Graces* 86,5
2. DAQ****** 85,5
3. Fietscherings**** 80
4. Let's Get Quizzical 65
5. Pünktchen +/- Arno 60
6. Tom & Jerry 57
7. Green Squirrel 56,5
8. Beer Brains 56
9. 4-2-Won 54
10. Tonno 53
11. SIA 4ever 45
12. Fantastic Force 43
13. Gonna Happen 43

Since neither Fantastic Force nor Gonna Happen are in next week, all 3 rounds are mine. If you want to leave some suggestions for topics, do so in the fb group.
WQ#179 is all booked up. If you have a table and can't make it, PLEASE mail/text/message me and let me know. At least for the next few weeks we'll need every table we can get.

POTD separate post, have a lovely spring weekend or at least, weekend :D
See you next time, whenever that may be :)

Los, Stop, Schaaaaaaaade.... schon wieder ausgebucht

Before I post apologies, explanations & new rules for bookings - it's only just Friday but WQ#179 on 26 March is all booked up. NO tables left.
If you want to try your luck on Thursday and swing by in the hope that someone cancelled or didn't turn up - by all means. If not - try to get one of those rare spare tables for one of the following Thursdays. To do so, PLEASE SEND A MAIL to quiz_miz@hotmail.com. DO NOT phone Oscar Wilde, or use any other email addresses.
More on that topic here tomorrow.
Good night.

Wilde & Oirish(ish) - WQ#177 roundup

Because today is Paddy's Day proper, and because PD Quiz was soooo much fun (thanks all!!!) - the points & a few pics. Rest of the pics in the fb group, takes too long to post them all here again.
Graces won the quiz, and Ballz won the pitcher round in 3:12min!!!
Also - massive thanks again to 2 Graces for helping hands & brains & feet in preparation of WQ#177 - without you I would have started drinking a lot earlier ;)

Full up, fed up

Once again, the quiz is fully booked. NO MORE TABLES available for WQ #178 on Thursday 19 March.
(Well, maybe one but I can only say for sure on Thursday. The special folks who take reservations in OW have left me with nowt but puzzles. As befits a quiz.. if you want to chance it, phone OW Thursday after 4pm, maybe someone cancelled. Or just turn up on Thursday night, maybe someone else won't ;))

And while we're at it - WQ #180, aka Ye Wilde Easter Eggstravaganza, on Thursday 2 April is reservation only (like Paddy's Day Quiz). Deadline is Sunday 30 March, then I close the book .. preparations and all that jazz ;)

This here is book as of last night.
