Is ja zum Wiehern..

Entweder spielen wir All The Pretty Horses

(von famous horses like Fury, Black Beauty, Barbie's trusty steeds, Bucephalus, Mr. Ed, und Pegasus zu winzigen Ponies und riesigen Reittieren... in Film, Geschichte, Musik, Kunst usw.)
Oh, und Reiter & Records

brush up your Spanish :D

Read up.
Alles andere wie gehabt. See you Thursday.

Let's try that again

Since I've had the time to bastel 2.5 rounds already we will have a quiz on Thursday 20 May (unless birthday parties, bank holidays, football matches. and other BS get dibs on the night).
And on Thursday 27 May.
After that I'll make a decision on the summer months and the future of the whole thingie.

Till then - the rounds for #35 as I have them.
Round 1 - By the Numbers - all answers are numbers (no give or take, maybe some multiple choice). Additional 5 points for those who can add them up correctly. Maybe give or take.
Round 2 - Middles Ages (nope, not mine, rather medieval.. 10th - 15th century) .. crusades, kings & knights, inquisitors, damsels, dragons.. well - proper history, not fairytales. Bauernkrieg, Hanse,
Music Round - Stadt-Land-Fluß (geography).. Mexico, Copacabana, Istanbul, China in your Hand... ON SECOND THOUGHT - COUNTRIES ONLY
Picture Round - the usual BS
Yogi - still open till tomorrow night (Team Öhm)

Hat sich erledigt

Wer auch immer jetzt noch für oder gegen Himmelvatermännertrinkertags-Quiz stimmen will - too late.
Executive decision von ganz oben - there is no Quiz on Thursday 13 May.
The next attempt at #35 might be Thursday 20 May but only if I get some other teams apart from Super Nova in. If not I'll make an early start for the Pfingst holidays. Re-grouping and planning when I'm back. Pondering a summer break.
Have a good HVMT-Tag, enjoy BBQs, sun (I wish), copious amounts of alcohol (remember, lots of water!! :D), and an extended weekend - and let me know if you plan to attend #34 on 20 May. (I'll change the poll on the right - you have till 17 May...
Team Öhm - ihr habt auch bis 17. Mai um mir euer Yogi-Thema zu schicken.

Preview, points & points

Hah, as promised, the points for #34.. and *drumroll* - for #33. As my mum is fond of saying "In einem geordneten Haushalt findet sich alles wieder an."

Now, planning #35 on Thursday 13 May.
I need to know by Monday night how many teams intend on turning up for #35, seeing that it is Himmelfahrt/Vatertag/Männertag/NationalerGrill-undKampftrinktag. If I don't get enough heads together I'll watch John Porter (same goes for the Thursday before Pfingsten :D). So - either you use the poll on the right, or drop me a line at quiz_miz@hotmail.com, or leave a comment here. Or text/tweet/FB message me. Or send a pigeon.. or hummingbird (albatross is too big to fit in my letterbox).
Should we have a quiz, the first question round is going to be something new: By the Numbers. All answers are numbers, and if you add them up correctly (or take a wild guess +/- something) you'll get another 5 points. It's basically the maths version of Connect 9 :D
And the Yogi topic should come from Team Öhm (you know what happens if I don't get one by Tuesday :)
Music could be anything - suggestions/requests by Sunday.. otherwise we might do plants in song. Or animals. Or polyphonic ringtones.
More stuff here over the weekend, and maybe a few "genetix freebies" for download.
Till then - have a good one.

Und zur Abwechslung mal wieder Sie Dshörmen Wörshn.
Planung für #35 am Donnerstag den 13. Mai.

A is for...

..Armitage, obviously :D
And Addicted. (to Armitage)
And Abracadabra (by the Steve Miller Band) which sounds nothing like Urgent (by Foreigner, starting with a 'U' :)
And A little Respect (which you should show the KwizMiz when she tells you that Lakehurst (general area) is NOT New York.. and the Hindenburg was not even scheduled to go there... (Destination Lakehurst Naval Air Station, in Manchester Township, New Jersey)..
Still - another brilliant quiz night, was really worth waiting 2 weeks :D
Quickly, before I finally meet up with John Porter, the points. I promise to have the full illustrated version up here later today.

Wusel Dusel 59,5
Super Nova 58,5
Es Gibt Reis baby 52,5
Red (NOT 'wet') Shirts 47,5
White Shoes 38,5
The Cakes 33,5
Team Öhm 33
Surrrruba (after 4 rounds) 18,5

Rest tomorrow. Promised :D

The night before quiz(mas)

Funny, after enjoying a week off, and some time spent on fitness, food, and frivolous activities I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's quiz. Basteling the music A-list this morning over a big cup of Costa Rican finest, I couldn't help but grin wickedly at the thought of your faces when you have to guess the songs tomorrow.

Seeing that I don't have a camera, this is probably what I looked like :D
1972 round almost wrote itself. And quite the interesting year it was.. did you know that it was the year the UEFA Cup was introduced and the trophy designed? And Margaret was crownd Queen? And the 15,007,034th VW Beetle was made? And that the Watergate burglars effed up first time round and had to go in for a sequel? And that the Summer Olympics did not exactly go as planned either?.. so many questions, and I had to pick only 9 - for you to guess which ones :D
Picture round should hav a new-ish look too, I've been photo shopping :D
Connect 9 is almost done, and the Yogi Round will sort itself out tomorrow. In the air tonight - all things that fly (nope, not the Phil-Collins-drum-playing-gorilla song :)

I really freu myself auf morgen, hopefully we'll have a good crowd and some fun. If not there's always UK elections and Strike Back :D
See you in 21.35 hours.

InQuizition Strikes Back

Well then - plans for #33.

Yogi Round - Team Öhm can send me their suggestions by Wednesday night, otherwise we'll do something .. dunno. In the air tonight sounds good. Planes, birds, Superman, Rocket Man...
Picture Round - the usual BS mix.
