Plans for #289 are still somewhat sketchy. Here's what I have so far.
Anagram Round (maybe with a twist or a connect 9 crossover)
Music Round "Heavenly" - it's Himmelfahrt so all the titles include the word "heaven"
Picture Round - the ususal BS
Question rounds 1+2 are as wide open as Newcastle's defence. (which reminds me that we might do a "black & white" round.. just because I can't find enough relegation-related questions)

For those of you who feel like leaving suggestions here - remember, if you post them Thursday afternoon it'll probably be too late..

The good


The bad (?)
Quiky #290 on 28 May is the last one for a while. Various events over the course of the last couple of weeks have strengthened my resolve to take a break from quizmizzing. That might look like doing a Keegan but I've been giving it more thought than some of the questions. I've always said it's a hobby and I'd be doing it as long as it's fun. Sadly it's becoming too much of a chore and I need some time-out to think a few things through. And to go to the cinema, organise my bookmarks, read some books, rediscover long-forgotten hobbies, look up long-lost friends, photoshop just for fun, finally go to Murray's, go to England, take up exercisi.. alright, that probably not. Anyroad, it's time for a few changes. Updates & potential plans will appear here if/when I have any.

The ugli
is a Jamaican tangelo, a citrus fruit created by hybridizing a grapefruit (or pomelo according to some sources) and a tangerine.

Minute last minute changes

Since I'm not as nimble and quick with mouse & keyboard at the mo, graphs will more or less be restricted to the picture round.
And since I don't expect a crowd, we might do mystery sounds in round 3. Maybe animals... :) ... otherwise it's most likely anagrams, easy enough to prepare..

Dues & clues

Alreet, been slacking a bit. But(t) there have been more important things to occupy my mind (and time), like BEATING THE SMEGGIN' SMOGGIES 3-1!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, just when I was ready to give up hope, and faith, and start planning for the Championship, we had to do the stupid thing and win. Now we have to do it again. Still, no better feeling in the world than winning a game. Especially when you've almost forgotten what winning was.

Anyroad, here are last week's points and Thursday's preview.


Round 1 - "traditional round 1" - geo, history, science & BS
Round 2 - most likely "tradtional round 2" - sports, entertainment, BS
Pictures - same procedure as last week... different pictures tho :)
Round 3 - open (suggestions?) .. we haven't done anagrams in a while :)
OR we could do a black & white round to celebrate last night's valuable victory...
Music round - Rainbow round - songs by artists with colours in their names...

It's Wednesday evening and the usual question presents itself - what am I gonna wear?

One question round is probably Movies - Gone in 60 Seconds (simple version, minus the music.. just because I had it prepared anyroad)
Connect 9 is probable but not promised, third question round could be True or False. Cant do much typing or general computer stuff at the mo so whatever comes my way, will come yours tomorrow. Be prepared or be surprised...

May Day - mission accomplished

Just a quick(y) one to say thanks once more. But for the noisy gate-crashers towards the end it was another great quiz night. MAYbe not as balanced (topically) and well-prepared as I (and you) would have loved it to be but good fun nonetheless.
