Bit later than usual, much to do at the mo. The 80s quizpartymayhemnight was really good fun, even though noise level and gastro organisation were found a bit ... wanting. Kudos though to Oscar Wilde staff who handled the chaos as expertly as they could. Anyroad, it was a lovely long trip down memory lane, and we have sooooooooooooooo many questions left that we're definitely going to have another 80s quizpartymayhemnight, this time a bit better organised. And maybe more people will dress for the occasion. Special shoutout to Frank & Hélène who really rocked the theme!!!
CannonballZ made up quite some ground in the Champions League race, and congrats also to Murphy'S Law who took 3rd place on their first night.
The CL table is looking even more interesting now, and with another 8 weeks to play, we might be working towards a real thriller of a final.

Quick roundup of WQCLS9G3 or Wilde Quiz #106. Klein aber fein wie schon in den vergangenen Wochen, mit dem erfreulichen Nebeneffekt des frühen Finishs. No More Nuts got nuts but also 3rd place - CONGRATS - and Graces & Dogs beat DAQs. There will be lots of free vodka at the 80s party, Graces having offered to share their 2 winner's bottles. Such generosity. I bet y'all root for them on Thursday again ;)
Anyroad, Pirate Day was fun, nice to see old new faces with a new name. Bon Doofi, back after so many months, nay years, managed to grab the Yogi for WQ#108 and have decided to throw their hat in the ring for the CL season 9. Well, at least for WQ#107 and 108. Absolutely smashing the rare and all the more valued appearance of Lord Pinkie & Dr. Brain, with their trusty Evangelium des Fliegenden Spaghettimonsters. Pirates Aaaarrrrgh Cool.
Sodele, here are a handful of pics and the current table. Graces&Dogs and DAQs gleichauf at the moment., should be a highly interesting race, especially since ???*** are missing another 2 games, and BallZ are outsiders. BUT you never know, we might get new contenders... the autumn season is still young.

Champions League Season 9 - DAQ hunting season continues

Quick update on how the Champions League table looks after 2 rounds. Plenty of time for the ambitious teams to catch some DAQ, or at least finish in the top 5 :D

Quiz ahoy!!!

Ahoy mateys... we have just found our 5th team and so it is my pleasure to announce that WQ#106 will go ahead as planned. Shiver me timbers...
Despite Thursday being Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day we will NOT have a full pirate quiz BUT one round is sailing under the Joli Rouge. Prepare to be entered(tained). If you DO feel like bringing your parrots, eye-patches, peg legs and cutlasses - bonus points for 'decoration' are available :)
No bottle of rum to be won (though we might try and dig one up) but plenty of other alcohol, and flying nuts.

Amazing Nerds, Cannonballs & Kegelkugeln.. and Fischtennis

As usual, quick one before the week is out. Fun night it was, that WQ#105. My new favourit team name: Fischtennis. My (old) favourite round: Sherlock (the brilliant BBC show). New (recurring) feature: finish before 11pm. And Graces with their first bottle (left behind for later parties) since... dunno :D CONGRATS!!!

And a wee note for The Alcoholics: Thanks for leaving your Yogi topic on a piece of paper BUT the rules state you must suggest 3 in case of recurring themes (like this one - no 2 TV shows in a row). I'll keep that one for later but for next Thursday (should you return, I have no formal reservation yet ;)) - PLEASE send me 2 other suggestions for fave rounds .. NO TV shows, NO Justin Bieber ;) .. by mail, by Tuesday 7pm at the VERY latest.

UPDATE: Houston, we have a quiz. 2 new (?) teams have thrown their hat (or names) in the ring so WQ#105 will go ahead on Thursday 12 September, small affair but fun like the last 2 weeks, and we might even finish before 11 pm again :D Looking forward to the Graces' Yogi round.
