Playing catch-up .. Easter points, and CL Season 11 start

Just the quicky update - not much time lately, or currently, for pics & jokes & round-ups...
At long last the Easter Eggstravaganza points as well as the points of last week's CLS11 start. Congrats to Fietscherings*** who won the first out of 12, by a neat 10.5 points :D
Both WQ#134 and #135 were lotsafun nights.. now that we're heading into summer the crowds should get smaller again, meaning the quizzes will be less.. noisy, and finish earlier. That is, if regulars could get used to turning up a wee bit earlier than has become customary ;) .. we shall attempt a 8.15pm kick-off on MayDay :D

And last but not least - we have a regular quiz on May Day (expect MayDay questions ;)) - Yogi is like Fog on the Tyne, all mine, all mine...
Prediction of the week - we're back to the old Newcastle guesses. Arsenal - Newcastle on Monday night 9pm. You have till then. DO make me laugh by predicting Newcastle to score :D :D

First let me .. well, not apologize for lack of Easter points & pics (I had better things to do) but promise to deliver them afore the new week is old...

Easter hols being over, Ye Wilde Quiz returns to what passes for 'normal' round these parts. No more silly games & made up questions, singalongs & sweets. Instead 12 weeks of 'serious' DAQ hunting... nah, not THAT serious ;)

Ye Wilde Quiz Champions League Season 11 kicks off on Thursday 24 April, with 4 times champions DAQ****, 3 times champions Fietscherings***, once glorious champions CannonballZ* and Amazing Graces*, serious contenders Let's Get Quizzical, Champions of the Hearts* Guapachosas y Mariachis, and Masters of Foresight & Finest Yogi Topics Pünktchen & Arno.
We still have 6 tables so if you want in.. phone Oscar Wilde.

MoF&FYT P&A start with 3 points for - once again - getting the prediction of the week SPOT ON. BallZ* and DAQ**** start with 2 points each.

And while we're on the topic of foresight - we need at least 5 teams to warrant a quiz on May Day. In case you're in town, and willing to play - do let me (or Oscar's) know so that we can plan WQ#136 on 1 May. Or on 8 May.

For now, I'm looking forward to WQ #135 this Thursday.

Last Easter Order, ladies & gentlemen..

Since I need the time to prepare (that includes chocolate shopping ;), I'm closing the book for the upcoming Easter Eggstravaganza tonight (one day later than initially announced). At the moment we have the usual 8 suspects :D in the book, give or take one or two players.
IF you want in on the fun, phone Oscars before midnight. Teams who decide last minute to take part can still turn up and join the quiz part of the party but will miss out on the games & treats as I only prepare for as many teams as are in the book tonight.
But sometimes less (or fewer) is more, and if no one else joins us we'll have enough chocolate for all, and space for silly games :D

Champions League Season 11 starts next Thursday, and if we get at least 5 teams together on MayDay we will have a regular quiz..

The second Wilde Eighties Quiz was a massive night, lots of fun (and alcohol ;)) and the first 100+ score in a long time. Congrats Fietscherings, ihr seht gar nicht so alt aus ;)

No time for more pics though I took some 50+ but since all involved are in the fb group, I might chuck in a few unprocessed ones there later.

WQ CL Season 10 Round-up.. and the shape of things to come

So - managed, at long last, to get the points together. Pics might follow soon.

DAQ**** (re)claimed the title by 3 points. The mind boggles what the finale might have looked liked had Fietscherings played all 12 games. Makes me go all excited about Season 11. Which starts on 24 April. And runs half the summer (in answer to the questions of some concerned WQ addicts - NO, we won't do silly things like summer breaks. We might have to shift a quiz or two, or even cancel, during the World Cup but, all in all, Summer (Quiz) Season is GO!

BUT first the fun stuff - the second 80s party/quiz is on this Thursday, gonna be fun with old (semi) regulars and newbie fun lovers. Don't forget to dress accordingly ;) (if you were too young to remember - GIYF :D)
And the annual Easter Eggstravaganza follows right behind, on 17 April. The usual chocolate, chicks, bollox & bunnies party. Sweets & treats & nuts & fun & games.. and of course a few 'Easterly' questions.
And on 24 April it's back to business - Champions League Season 11 (!!!) starts with old&new champions DAQ****, and at least 5 teams who will be chasing them over 12 weeks (give or take). Bit more 'ambitious' than the specials but no less fun :)

It was incredibly tight (only 3 points, which Fietscherings*** would have got, had they not missed one quiz...) till the very end but DAQ**** DID IT.
An unprecedented 4th (3rd consecutive) title. CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Also - the bestestest quiz, fun and atmosphere-wise, in a long time. THANKS quiz family :D

Finaaaale, o-ho, Finaaaale, o-ho-ho-ho... Champions League Season 10 - the end is nigh

Just a quick heads-up and caveat.

Tomorrow (3 April) we play the Champions League Season 10 final. AKA Beat the DAQs. We still have 6 tables so if you want in - book one. (We CANNOT reserve a table for single persons who just want to 'observe' ... you could just come in though and join one of the teams, there are always those who are willing to 'adopt' / looking for fresh brains ;)

And just so's we don't all get annoyed on Thursday - if you 'only' want to party and have fun and talk with your mates, THIS particular quiz is not for you. Champions League finale means we need a certain measure of concentration, and thus quietness. Those who disturb will be - very politely - asked to leave ;)
