Apologies for not having pics & points up here yet but family matters and general shaggedoutness demanded a weekend in McPom.
After last Thursday's magnificent mayhem that was Ye Golden Jubilee, normal quiz service resumes on Thursday 2 August. 8.15 pm. 2nd game Champions League Season 5.
Here's the book (last Thursday's) - if you want in or out or a different table - phone Oscar Wilde :).
Yogi right still is with The Mangos, should they choose to return (mail me 2 of your favourite topics by Monday 9pm) .. if I fail to hear from TheFruity Ones I shall go (and you with me) with the wonderful choice of Ponyclub.
Pics and stuff and a few new rules/changes up here as soon as I'm back in the big city.

Golden Rules for Golden Jubilee
Quick cut & paste job from the fuckbook page - no time yet for German version or lengthier explanation. Still - if you're one of the chosen few who have already booked their table for Ye Wilde Quiz Golden Jubilee - here's what the we'll do on Thursday 26 (until circumstances force us to improvise.. then again, that worked out just dandy last week :))
YE WILDE QUIZ GOLDEN JUBILEE. RULEZ & ROUNDS. READ CAREFULLY (or if you don't, do not complain on Thursday :P)
- We will have one 'Golden Round' - girls, gate, brown, balls, boots, goal, retrievers.. who knows.
- We will have one 'déja vu' round - questions we have (at least once) asked before - 50 weeks, Best Of, sort of :)
- ... We will have one round about the quiz and the teams. For that purpose I need from each team a few snippets of information (strange hobbies, famous authors, boy band members, or baby photos :D) .. no need to name names if you don't want to but something funny you want to share or have already shared with fellow quiz fans. Things your neighbours might (or should) know about you). Send message on facebook (DON'T POST in group :P) or mail to the usual addy.
- We might (if time permits) have one round with 'yogi' questions (lucky dip, sorta). And since it's your Jubilee as much as mine - you can send me questions AND answers on topics you think your neighbours DON'T know :P .. by Tuesday night. I'll pick at least one per team (we did that at the Christmas quiz, was fun)
- We will play the Pitcher Game so at least one per team should start training - straight arms this time :P..
- We might include a paper plane distance race round if weather and time permit.
- We will play Tits & Arse (details only on Thursday, it's a single player game, every man and woman for themselves :P)
- We might chuck in a quick darts round to add points. Practice :P
And since it's 'my' quiz I reserve the right to make the music round about some of my favourite songs. (from the last 50 years.. I promise NO Newcastle chants :)
The rounds will not all have the same number of points, and therefore we won't have a joker. But we will have spot prizes and lots of fun, and enough alcohol and nuts. Maybe even pretzels, or crisps, or...
And last but not least - it's gonna be a party and long and alcoholic. So PLEASE turn up early. And maybe take the first two hours of Friday off :P
all the rest up here soon, and if you have any questions - HOLLER!!!!

And so it begins again...
Below a few pictures and the first points of season 5 as well as the book for the next 3 weeks. The rest of the 50 pictures here for download. Bit pressed for time so no more chit-chat here - gotta run and organize Ye Golden Jubilee. PAAARTEE TIME. More infos in a separate post. Or on Facebook :P
PLEASE REMEMBER: it's gonna be full house on Thursday so pleasepleaseplease if you are in the book and can't make it CANCEL as early as possible, there is a waiting list. Also, if you phone the Oscar's and are told there are no tables left - do try again at a later date or check the facebook page, as soon as I hear of cancellations, updated BOOK will appear there (not here, don't have time for doublework)
For now - had fun last Thursday, will have even more next week. Quiz Party like never before (or only once)

Cheese, cake, champions & Cherald Ford
Now THAT went well. Lots of fun, and fight, and suspense last night. Spannend till the very Ende.
A big thank you to all who so valiantly and entertainingly contributed to what already was Season 4 of Ye Wilde Quiz Champions League. And since there's no rest forthe wicked, season 5 starts on 19 July. A few rulesand details will be changed but all in all we'll try the same old BS again for another 12 weeks.
Nice to see new faces who might return to become new regulars (thanks to Graces for adopting strays :)) and absolutely marvellous to have some of the 'oldtimers' return. Looking forward to seeing more of Pinkies & The Brain and certain Canucks soon :)
Anyroad, before I go into the rainy weekend (lots of lovely French cheese and fluffy white mousse-au-chocolat cake to be devoured -THX Pinky) - points, and final table, and the first few pics (theme last night seemed to have been 'Can you feel the love tonight' or 'Love is in the air' :)).. more up here Sunday-ish. As well as the new rules, and the plans for Ye Wilde Quiz Five-Oh (aka Golden Jubilee). Yes, we do have plans!!
A few more pics here for download or on facebook.Oder bei Obi. The restliche 30+ up on Sunday.
Yogi right goes to Power Rangers or, if they don't return, The Evil Technicians. And not further (sorry WTFIDE) :P Rangers/Technicians - if you come back next week you can choose a topic for one of the 3 question rounds. You'll have to send 2 suggestions by mail by Sunday 9pm. If you have any more questions, mail me too, or join us on f**kbook.
Last but not least - for you doubting debating Thomasses - Cherald Ford died in 2006, Ronny snuffed it in 2004.
Settled :P
And the final word before the weekend - BOOK. Have a good one (weekend, that is, not book. though - rainy weekend with a good novel .. not to be sniffed at).. see y'all soon.

Ye Wilde Quiz - Golden Jubilee
Yep, we've almost made it half a ton, or century, of Wilde Quizzes. And to celebrate all that is fun and fine about WQ we'll be having an extra special super BIG FIVE-OH Quiz on Thursday 26th July. More rounds, more fun, more drinks & nuts and plenty of games as well. Madness, like.
Tables are getting rarer so if you want - phone the Oscar Wilde. You wouldn't want to miss this.

Cougars, Cakes, Calamity Jane & Captain Canada
Another lovely
turnout last night - thanks to all the loyal quizzers who, despite
inclement weather and impairing holiday season, made the weekly trek
to the pub. Winners of this one - Who the fuck needs David Ellis? Not
only because they won their second ever quiz (at least as far as my records
show - the stats for season 1 are more than sketchy) but they also
made a big leap from last week's 61,19% to 62,94%. Also upwardly
mobile were Fragezeichen, Hurricanes and Just Met Today.
DAQ and Die 3 ???
traded places once again and it looks as if they will duke it out in
next week's Champions League Final - the long awaited tooth and nail,
all stops out, catch you on the finishing line showdown. OK Corral,
eat your heart out.
Other memorable
moments - the Graces' green-gooey-goodness cake. Happy Birthday again
and many happy returns .
And thanks for sharing - I will not have to eat again until Sunday
Quip of the week -
off-camera - "…und berühmte Kanadier." "Einer- oder
Zweierkanadier?" LOL @ CannonballZ.
This penultimate WQ
brings us to the end. Of CLS4. The tables below show the average
score and respective places throughout season 4 so far. (To save time
I've omitted the teams that don't have enough games to finish the
season altough Minus Zwei would theoretically still qualify were they
to attend WQ#48). The little up-and-down feature only applies to week
10->week 11 but might become a regular one in season 5.
The Yogi right for
the - possibly - decisive 3rd
round goes to Botschaftsluder who have until Sunday 9pm to mail me
two suggestions. No more TV topics though in this season .
Should I not hear anything from ye girdls I shall shoulder the
responsibility and pick the topic myself :P
BTW - Calamity Jane
reminded me - there will be a Wilde Wild West round in the very near
future.. I know it's American History again but I've always loved
playing Cowboys and Native Americans. So - check out Buffalo Bill and
Sitting Bull ;)
As for cougars - of
course there's nothing wrong with ogling young Mr. Turner's (and/or
Bamber's) assets .
Hands up ladies if you want more of those included in the next rounds
(or any other eye-candy for that matter - shallow is the new black )
That's all she wrote
for this week, have a nice summery weekend and rest your brains for
the GRANDE FINALE!!! See yis soon.
