Coming next.. or not?

As mentioned a few times, and explained last night, the next few weeks will see some irregular quiz dates and whether we'll have a quiz or not pretty much depends on the number of teams we'll get together.
Below is the current book. I have left out anyone who hasn't explicitely confirmed their attendance, with the exception of the Trusty Three. And ART for next week.




The last regular quiz is WSQ (that's Wilde Sober Quiz ) #141 on Thursday 5 June.

Once the Football World Cup starts we have to hand over the back bar to the fans of the beautiful game (and I count myself amongst them). We do however have the option of moving the quiz to Wednesday nights, at least for WSQ #142 and WQ #143. Since that would mean I'd have to cancel my Wednesday evening classes, Wednesday quizzes will only take place IF WE GET ENOUGH TEAMS. Otherwise we'll have a wee summer break till 3 July. I need to know at least one week in advance for #142 and #143 or I'll call them off, teach, and enjoy the footie.

For the next few weeks at least, if you're not on the list PLEASE PHONE OSCAR WILDE and reserve a table. That goes for all teams, regular or visiting. I will be checking the book every few days and update here.

Well, that 'sober quiz' experiment turned out not too bad after all, seems there is fun to be had without alcohol. Worry not though, the dry spell will only last till the Germany-Portugal match. After that, it's back to normal. And then I will be making strawberry limes for shots :D
Anyroad, it was a lovely round last night, nice new teams (great team name, Bitterfelder Bierblumen!! :D), and the return of long-lost Bad Apples who have now turned into Mad Professors and who took 3rd place in their first attempt :D - welcome back teachers!!!
DAQ**** managed the second century break this season (the other one being an 'irregular' 80s night score by Fietscherings***). The ton+ put them back in pole position and opened up a wee gap of 18,5 points. Graces* sure have their work cut out for them :D

Pünktchen & Arno moved up to third place which they should be able to keep for at least another week or two :D. They also moved up to table 30. Permanently :)

Second half of Season 11 starts on Thursday 5 June, the last regular quiz for a bit. Wiseguy & his Servants or Bitterfelder Bierblumen can send me 3 topics by Sunday 9pm, should they be returning for WQ#141. If I don't get anything, I'll be picking all 3 rounds (and boy, do I have topics :P:))

Apologies for lack of updates, not much time at the mo. And since barely anyone reads these pages anyway - all the relevant updates in the fb group.

Good to see old friends again, and make new ones, and CONGRATULATIONS to Las Guapachosas y sus tres Mariachis Sudados on their first Wilde Win! Nicely played, well deserved, and maybe to be followed by another one? :D
Below just the CL table (Graces extended their lead by half a point and are now 3 up on DAQ. Can't wait to see the next round of this race :D.. P&A are getting real close to taking over third, could al happen next week...)

WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!
If I (we?) thought WQ#136 was cool - WQ#137 TotallyToppedTheThing. Lots of fun, nice mixing&mingling, SUPER SCORES!!! and the earliest finish in.. I can't remember.

Congrats to A****ingMazingGraces* (all 2 1/2 of them) - went up 2 places and are now nipping at DAQ****'s heels, Champions League is getting REALLY interesting.

Thanks to Ye Wilde Scooby Gang - loyal regulars (welcome back, Dad :D), Any Random Team(s), multi-lingual competitive newbies (I AM SOOOO LOOKING FORWARD to next week's Yogi Round, whether you're there or not ) and well-behaved visitors. This family thing is getting better by the week and I can't wait to get started on WQ#138 :D

Fire Festivals, Bang Bang Bang, Mamazonas & (too?) much allohol - Ye Wilde MayDay mayhem quiz

What a lovely night. En famille. Quiet and well-behaved yet loads of laughs. And finished (almost) on time... We HAVE TO do that again. Maybe next week? :D
Despite the advanced state of refreshment LGQ turned up in, they valiantly and knowledgeably fought their way to their first second of the season :D RESPECT!! & CONGRATZ. Also to BallZ* who took their first first, and DAQ**** who remain top dawgs (or DAQs) and P&A who, after another smashing result, are sitting pretty in third. Congratz also to Graces* who got their second Yogi in 10 seasons :D. I really look forward to the choices :D

Books on Prediction of the week are now closed, Ronnie The Rocket is on a roll and everything points toward DAQ****, P&A, Graces* and LGQ starting with at least one point next week :D.

One topic for WQ#137 is set, let's see what Graces come up with for Yogi, and the rest will take care of itself :D
